Nitrogen Purging
Commonly used to displace hazardous gases or dry residual fluids within a pipeline, often in conjunction with pipeline cleaning or hydrostatic testing. Nitrogen’s dry, inert properties allow it to safely displace gas and absorb fluids without risk of fire or explosion. Nitrogen purging is so safe and effective when used to clean pipelines that it has become a routine practice before a pipeline goes into operation or when it is being taken out of service. It is also used to purge or dry a pipeline once pigging is complete.

Nitrogen Blankets
JP Services offers nitrogen blanketing to prevent fires or explosions during the storage and transportation of combustible materials or residue in a pipeline. This process utilizes nitrogen to maintain safe oxygen concentrations in a confined space since oxygen is required to ignite a fire. Nitrogen also dampens combustible dust and prevents a spark from igniting it. It can also be used to maintain a set pressure.
